Omniture claims itself to be the leader in website optimization. I totally agree with this, but I'm here today to tell you about the free stat keeping service Site Meter. Although this evergrowing website (clients include perezhilton.com and autoblog.com) is growing quick, it is going to have to stay strong to keep up with the hype. Their primary version of the product may be free but the free version is a million dollars in a basket for what your getting. Their products can be used for any website but as far as I'm concerned they are most effective for blogs and bloggers. Bloggers can take information given to them by Site Meter and then decide on topics to write. There is a short video post on problogger.net (if you can find it) that is generally very helpful in figuring out how to apply this technique to yourself. Site Meter gives you your total number of visits the average length of time per visit, and can even go down to how many visits you have had in the nearest hour. You can choose the span of time you want to see the stats for to, anywhere from one day to twelve months. I havn't use the product for long but so far I am genuinly impressed. I would definetly recomend you try out sitemeter.com for your website.
